Join us for an important discussion on domestic violence. Domestic violence is a threat to many people in the Capital region. This talk will cover the fundamentals of domestic violence and debunk some commonly misunderstood myths. Kimberly Crawford will shed light on some of the recent statistics about the prevalence of domestic violence and the available resources to support domestic violence survivors.

Moderator: Marti Brown Bailey, B.S., C.S.A., C.D.P., C.A.D.D.C.T., interim director of Community Affairs and director of the Sibley Senior Association and Community Health, Sibley Memorial Hospital

Guest speaker: Kimberly Crawford is the training and outreach coordinator at the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She has formerly worked in direct services providing emergency support to survivors of human trafficking.  Ms. Crawford has developed training curricula for advocates, law enforcement, and other allied professionals to build better capacities to combat power-based violence in the DMV.  She is a certified family and individual trauma specialist and weaves trauma-understanding into her work and trainings to honor survivor’s experiences and healing processes.
